International Parking Institute Launches Parking Matters® Blog
New online forum for parking and transportation professionals
FREDERICKSBURG, VA -March 7, 2012. With today’s launch of the Parking Matters® Blog, the International Parking Institute provides an exciting new platform for parking and transportation professionals to share ideas, voice opinions, inspire, enlighten, educate, and inform.
“The new blog will engage readers with commentary and news from a cadre of the industry’s foremost parking experts, as well as members of IPI’s staff,” says Shawn Conrad, CAE, IPI’s executive director. “Readers can turn to the blog for the latest information on everything from sustainable parking to technology, IPI news, and the lighter side of parking.” Conrad explains that at launch there are more than 20 contributing bloggers, and that number is expected to grow. Guest blog posts from those outside the parking and transportation sector are also planned.
Conrad explains that the blog is a key part of IPI’s Parking Matters® program, which is designed to advance awareness of the vital role that parking and parking professionals play in transportation, economic development and revitalization, traffic flow, college and university life, hospitality, real estate, entertainment, retail, security, law enforcement, and more. He encourages parking and transportation professionals and others who want to know more about the parking industry to bookmark http://blog.parking.org and join the conversation.
Today’s blogs include a welcome post from Conrad as well as posts by IPI Chair Casey Jones, CAPP, on Thinking Big about Sustainability, Brett Woods of Kimley-Horn on Changing Perception of Parking, and a post that challenges readers to explain why parking matters in six words. Short contributor bios are available on the blog site.
