The CPPA Board of Directors and Conference Committee have been busy finalizing the 2010 Annual Conference Program. Our "Partnerships in Parking" program has been really shaping up. We have been working with IPI to bring IPI's "Parking Matters" program to California. The "Parking Matters" program has been designed to explain to typically non-parking professionals how learning best practices, new technologies and innovative tactics can improve parking operations and boost profits.
In other exciting news, CPPA recently got confirmation that
Rosario Marin, Former 41st US Treasurer, will be our Keynote
Speaker for our 27th Conference. Ms. Marin will be discussing
her experiences in public service.
Our tradeshow floor is almost sold out and we have been amazed at the enthusiasm and energy that has already been generated about the Conference and Tradeshow so, please try to join us at the Westin Hotel in Long Beach California, November 17-19th. Please visit our website for Conference information www.cppaparking.org.

Now that some time has passed since the 2010 Rocky Mountain Transportation and Parking Summit and the conference committee has had time to recover, it is time to reminisce. In no uncertain terms, it was a success! The conference committee has continued to receive positive feedback from the attendees and exhibitors regarding many aspects of the conference including the venue. The Boulder Marriott provided excellent service and all around great support for the needs of the conference and attendees.
The success of the event would not have been made possible without the generous support of our sponsors. It is impossible to thank our sponsors enough for their contributions and partnerships in making the annual conference a success.
Last but certainly not least, thank you to our conference partners, the Rocky Mountain Chapter of the Association for Commuter Transportation (RMACT). PIPTA looks forward to continuing their partnership with the Association for Commuter Transportation (ACT).
During the conference, the PIPTA Board of Directors took the opportunity to thank the exiting members, Greg Dempsey of Eastern Washington University, Max Clark of Capital City Development Corp in Boise and Casey Jones of Boise State University for their long term service and dedication in fostering the growth of the association. Their involvement and the expertise they brought to the Board will be missed.
Also during the conference, the PIPTA Board had the pleasure of introducing their newest members Bridgette Brady of Washington State University, JC Porter of Boise State University and Michelle Rhoads (re-elected) of the Oregon Health and Science University. The new members understand they have big shoes to fill and are ready for the challenge.
The current PIPTA Board consists of members:
· Josh Kavanagh, University of Washington - President
· Bridgette Brady, Washington State University - Vice President
· Keith Ehrensing, City of Portland - Treasurer
· Laura Lierz, T2 Systems, Inc. - Secretary
