International Parking Institute’s Parking Technology Committee Presents “Technology Trends in Parking”

FREDERICKSBURG, Virginia (March 17, 2009) - The International Parking Institute's (IPI) Parking Technology Committee will be presenting Technology Trends in Parking, a session focusing on newly emerging technologies in the parking industry.

The IPI Parking Technology Committee provides technical information to members and member organizations regarding development of new technology and its implication in various aspects of the parking industry. This committee will present the formal seminar Technology Trends in Parking at state meetings across the country as well as at the 2009 IPI Conference and Expo in Denver, May 17-20.

This educational session presents on numerous technological advances within the parking industry including credit card in/out, license plate inventory and recognition, Radio Frequency Identification (RFID), smart cards, web-based parking management systems, and many more innovations that benefit organizations focused on parking and transportation issues.

"One of our goals as a committee is to take our knowledge, passion and experience and share it with the diverse IPI membership in a way that they can understand it, and then use it to improve their piece of the parking industry" says Richard Easley, CAPP, IPI Parking Technology Committee Chair.

Educational sessions have been presented for member parking associations including the Mid-Atlantic Parking Association and the Florida Parking Association. Other presentations are scheduled throughout the year in various states across the U.S.
