International Parking Institute Recognizes 2011 Certified Administrator of Public Parking (CAPP) Program Graduates

Fredericksburg, VA  (June 23, 2011) - The International Parking Institute (IPI) has announced the 2011 graduates of its Certified Administrator of Public Parking (CAPP) Program. This year's 13 graduates come from small and large municipal agencies, colleges and universities, an airport, as well as parking management and technology companies.  

"The parking profession is increasingly being recognized by architects, city planners, building owners and transportation authorities as integral to successful planning and development," explained IPI Executive Director Shawn Conrad, CAE.  "This year's CAPP graduates represent a new crop of outstanding leaders in our profession." 


The CAPP is considered the leading credential of the parking profession. Developed in partnership with the University of Virginia, CAPP is a rigorous two-year training and examination program culminating in the awarding of the designation Certified Administration of Public Parking. The program is designed to establish a benchmark of excellence for the industry and provide a means by which parking and transportation professionals can demonstrate their proficiency. CAPP graduates receive extensive management training and can boast professional expertise in parking-specific issues including safety and security, facility design and enforcement.
