Committees

Committees play a major role in IPI's programs, operation and overall direction. As a membership organization, IPI appreciates the dedication and involvement of its members who are actively involved in its many committees.


IPI Advisory Council
IPI's Advisory Council considers and makes recommendations to the Board of Directors regarding parking and transportation issues, trends, public relations, The Parking Professional or other matters impacting our industry. The Advisory Council plays a role in helping IPI achieve its strategic goals.

IPI Awards of Excellence Committee
The Awards of Excellence Committee solicits formatted entries for each of the Awards of Excellence categories for the annual competition. It selects winners in each category based upon published criteria. Members of this committee are to be drawn from universities, cities, airports and hospitals who are very experienced parking operators in addition to an engineer and architect with parking structure design and rehabilitation experience.

IPI Professional Certification/CAPP Committee
The CAPP Committee is to provide essential direction on the following areas: identify the body of knowledge, manage the assessments/exam, review applications and the appeals process as well as managing scholarship fund distribution.

IPI Conference Program Committee
This committee is tasked with the responsibility of obtaining quality speakers and relevant topics for the association’s educational programs at the annual IPI Conference & Expo. This committee will review submissions as well as provide guidance to seminar facilitators.

IPI Consultants Committee
The Consultants Committee develops projects, programs and products that benefit the membership in the parking and transportation industry. This committee serves to provide technical expertise on standards and processes used in the industry.

IPI Education Development Committee
This committee will provide guidance in topic areas and curriculum development for three essential programs: CAPP coursework, online distance learning/training and onsite training.

IPI Expo Committee
The Expo Committee provides oversight and makes recommendations to enhance the annual Conference & Expo experience for attendees and exhibitors. It assists staff with scheduling, exhibit rules, regulations and partners with the site Host Committee.

IPI Golf Committee
Responsible for preparing and running the annual CAPP Golf Tournament at the IPI Annual Conference & Expo.

IPI International Outreach Committee
The International Outreach Committee identifies avenues to promote association involvement, training, publications and the exchange of ideas and best practices across the globe.

IPI Membership Committee
The Membership Committee provides direction and assistance for recruiting new members to the organization and developing retention programs. Additionally, it identifies prospects and ensures that there is an initiative to bring them and ancillary operations into our membership.

IPI Parking Matters Committee
IPI's Parking Matters® Committee makes recommendations to the Board of Directors and provides leadership and guidance on Parking Matters, IPI's industry-wide program for advancing the parking profession. The Parking Matters Committee core participants are selected to be representative of the interests and expertise of IPI membership at large. The Parking Matters Committee may also accommodate rotating participation of IPI members and potentially non-members, on an as-needed basis.

IPI Professional Recognition Committee
The Professional Recognition Committee reviews submissions and selects winners of the annual awards for Parking Professional, Organization, Supervisor and Staff Member of the Year.

IPI Safety and Security Committee
The IPI Safety & Security Committee is delegated with the responsibility to provide specialized safety, security, and crisis management information and guidance to IPI members and the parking and transportation industry.

IPI State & Regional Committee
The State & Regional Associations Committee provides a format to share information and best practices amongst IPI’s allied state and regional associations and their leadership.

IPI Sustainability Committee
To initiate and investigate projects or programs that educate, inform and benefit the parking and transportation industry regarding sustainable practices. The committee will work collaboratively and represent IPI with other organizations to promote and advance environmental initiatives.

IPI Parking Technology Committee
This committee is delegated the responsibility to provide technical information to members and member organizations regarding development of new, cutting-edge technology and how it may be employed in various aspects of the parking industry. The Parking Technology Committee also contributes to the technical library of IPI.
