This morning will begin with coverage of "SmartTrips" programs including:  What's new, what's hot and where transit is headed in terms of technology.  A representative from WMATA, Washington Area Metro Area's Transit Authority, will make the presentation along with others from the transit fields.

"Wireless Technology" is fast becoming one of the hottest topics in our industry.  Pay-by-Cell, Global Positioning, Smart Meters, are just a few of the buzzwords.  This presentation will include an overview of what's available in terms of customer options, cellular technology as it relates to parking and transportation, parking space reservation systems and more.

Luncheon - Exhibits Open

1:30 p.m.
"Pay-On-Foot"
presentation will include an overview of one local area airport's experience discussing the success of their pay-on-foot system, license plate recognition system and bus tracking system.

"Big-City Smart Card Programs" will include an overview of what the City of Philadelphia has done with on-street parking, meters and smart-cards.  Representatives from the City, meter vendors and the financial agency will present, to give a first-hand account of the process and the outcome.  Other big-city representatives from the area will also participate in this session.

The afternoon will end with Shoptalks that will address the day's topics as well as a discussion of other issues that may be facing you in your organization.

Members of the IPI Technology Committee will give an update on what's happening across the country as it relates to technology in the industry.  During this working session they will present "Things You Need to Know and How to Solve Them."  Audience participation is a must!

1:00 p.m.
Colleges and Universities often have the edge when it comes to technology.  These agencies were among the first in our industry to sell permits on-line, receive citation payments on-line and offer debit card payments for all parking and transportation related services.  This session will update us on where they are today and where they're headed.
