The City of Pittsburg, Kan., will soon have the results of a new parking study, but it’s not your average parking study. This one’s being done by MBA students at Pittsburg State University, and some say that gives it a little bit of an edge.

The students conducted an online survey about downtown parking with business owners and the followed up a semester later with in-person interviews and looking at parking firsthand. The assistant city manager says he’s thrilled—the city will benefit from fresh sets of eyes and, he says, business owners have been forthcoming and honest with students because they’re perceived as being completely unbiased.
