Survey Says: Car-Sharing a Big Perk for Students
Students participating in a survey by UC Berkeley’s Transportation Sustainability Research Center and Zipcar said having car-sharing options on campus is not only sustainable but improves their quality of life and makes them less likely to want their own car at school. That, of course, is music to the ears of university parking directors who might not be able to offer a parking space for every driver who wants one.
More than 10,000 students participated in the survey, and more than 30 percent said having car-sharing options on campus allowed them to leave their own cars at home. Another 30 percent said they would have brought a car to school if the university didn’t offer the sharing option.
And then let us know in the comments—has car-sharing changed the way people drive to (and park at) your property?
