Have You Failed Lately?

If the answer to this question is yes, fantastic! If the answer is no, it’s time to be concerned.
Failure is the one experience that every successful person in the history of the world has in common. This may sound like a contradiction, but it’s not. Mistakes, goof-ups, malfunctions, and disappointments are all a natural part of the process of reaching our goals.
That is because humans learn through failure. It not only teaches us new things, but it also teaches us how to tolerate being vulnerable and uncomfortable, which are both critical to our growing, maturing, and development process.
Failure is not an optional step to success. As explorers seeking solutions to life’s problems and challenges, we achieve success only by persevering through our failures. Failing provides us with solutions that we would otherwise never see coming. It provides us with the opportunity to learn what ideas will or will not work.
It is unfortunate that many of us were taught that failure is something to be ashamed of or is embarrassing. Instead of hiding our attempts that didn’t work out, or, instead of simply not trying in order to avoid failure altogether, we should embrace the learning process required to achieve our goals, which most certainly includes failing. After all, as Zig Ziglar said, “Failure is an event, not a person.”
So remember, if you have failed lately, you are not, in fact, a failure. You have simply failed and hopefully taken the opportunity to learn and grow.
If you haven’t failed lately, it’s time to take a look at what’s holding you back from trying something new, developing yourself, and achieving your goals. If you want to succeed at anything in life, you will have to take a chance. And while you will most likely fail in the process, that’s a good thing. It means you are one step closer to success.
