In 2014, IPI partnered with Governing Magazine to create a survey that identified top trends in parking and transportation. According to the magazine’s membership – which consists of key municipal leadership and staff – “Developing a Parking Strategic Plan” was the top area of interest.
Parking Strategic Plans began to appear within the parking world about a decade ago as a tool to integrate a variety of other plans. Strategic plans, while they also address issues related to an organization’s vision and mission, ultimately tend to be focused on implementation and therefore are “action plan” oriented. In this interactive webinar, participants will have the opportunity to learn about parking strategic planning from some of the industry’s leading consultants and practitioners.

Dennis Burns, CAPP, is a Senior Practice Builder and Regional Vice President for Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. and has over 30 years of parking operations, management and consulting experience. In the past several years, Mr. Burns has lead national and international research and analysis efforts in the areas of parking system strategic planning and “smart parking” system development.
Bridgette Brady, CAPP, Director of Transportation Services, Cornell University. Prior to moving to Cornell University in April 2014, Brady worked in the Washington State University transportation office for over 20 years and served as the director of transportation services at WSU for the last five years. During her five years as director, her primary goals and accomplishments surrounded transforming and rebranding a system that was parking-centric into a system focused on transportation demand management with parking being one of many mobility options.
Vanessa Solesbee, M.A., recently joined Kimley-Horn and Associates as a Practice Builder. Prior to joining Kimley-Horn, she was President of The Solesbee Group and Vice President and Operations Director for the Cedar Rapids Downtown District in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. In her role at Kimley-Horn, Vanessa provides expertise in creating strategic communications and community outreach campaigns that integrate planning and development efforts into a community’s shared values. She is passionate about empowering people and organizations to create world-class communities through the use of innovative digital engagement tools and by building strong public/private partnerships.
